Project Based Learning at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman

In the coming year we will be extending our successful critical thinking and problem solving programme to all pupils in year 7.

Every Wednesday afternoon pupils will have a session during which they will work in small groups on a problem to solve. This innovative programme will form part of our delivery of Successful Futures, the new curriculum and will be supported by a range of local organisations and businesses and pupils will have the opportunity to present their findings before panels of external speakers as well as through events for parents and the local community that will show-case the work they have done.

Pupils will have the opportunity to select projects from a wide range of topics including how to bridge the age gap, how to develop our sense of Welsh identity and how to resolve the problem of waste and plastics.

As part of the programme pupils will have the opportunity to visit a number of local and national organisations including the National Botanic Gardens, Hinkley B Power Station and yr Egin (S4C) in Carmarthen.
