Caredigrwydd yn Ysgol Dyffryn Aman

Mrs Lisa Williams established and launched the Kindness Campaign at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in February 2019. The school already has over 40 Kindness Ambassadors across KS3 and KS4. These numbers are growing rapidly and the Kindness Ambassadors have had a profound impact on kindness in the school, our local and wider community.

On Sunday the 17th February it was National ‘Random Acts of Kindness Day’ so a group of ambassadors visited the local community of Ammanford to spread the importance of kindness and raise awareness of YDA’s new Kindness Campaign.

In March the ambassadors took part in two important activities both locally and on a National scale. They donated items to Ammanford FoodBank and raised a fantastic amount of money for Comic Relief.

In June some of the Kindness Ambassadors celebrated National Learning Disability Week by volunteering at Amman Valley Mencap’s sporting event. They proudly encouraged and supported Canolfan Amanwy pupils and many local people with disabilities.

As a result of the commitment, creativity and enthusiasm shown since February, Ysgol Dyffryn Aman’s Kindness Ambassadors were nominated for a peace award. On Thursday July 4th The WCIA proudly presented our Kindness Ambassadors with the prestigious ‘Young Peacemakers’ award at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen.
