RHAGLEN DARLLEN ADEG COFRESTRU

Dwywaith yr wythnos, bydd tiwtoriaid yn darllen i Flwyddyn 7 ac 8 yn ystod cofrestru foreol. Rydym yn darllen amrywiaeth o straeon er mwyn annog darllen ar gyfer mwynhad a hybu gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth disgyblion. Mae nifer o’r llyfrau hefyd yn cefnogi’r cwricwlwm trwy wneud cysylltiadau rhwng syniadau a themau sy’n cael eu hastudio mewn gwersi.

Pam ydym yn annog darllen ar gyfer mwynhad?

  • Mae darllen yn datblygu hyder ac yn gwella hunan-barch

  • Gall darllen galluogi pobl ifanc i ddeall materion cymhleth.

  • Mae darllen yn cynyddu empathi

  • Mae darllen yn bleserus, hwyl ac yn gyfle i ymlacio.

  • Mae darllen yn allweddol ar gyfer cyrhaeddiad academaidd yn yr ysgol ond mae darllen ar gyfer mwynhad hefyd yn mynd ymhellach.

Ceir manylion am y llyfrau isod. Anogwn rieni a gwarcheidwaid i drafod y llyfr gyda’u plant.

  • Reading develops confidence and improves self-esteem

  • Reading can help young people to understand complex issues from the safe fictional world of a book

  • Reading is proven to increase empathy

  • Reading is enjoyable, fun and relaxing, (for fluent readers if they have the right book)

In fifth-century Denmark, a murderous monster stalks the night, and only the great prince of the Geats has the strength and courage to defeat him. Mae pob tref ar Discworld yn gwybod y straeon am lygod mawr a phibyddion, ac mae Maurice – cath ar ochr y stryd – yn arwain band o lygod mawr addysgedig (a phlentyn gwirion) ar daith i ennill llawer mawr o arian.

Mae popeth yn grêt tan iddyn nhw ddarganfod rhywun yn canu alaw wahanol.

Nawr mae’n rhaid iddo ef a’i lygod mawr ddysgu cysyniad newydd: drygioni. . .

Every town on Discworld knows the stories about rats and pipers, and Maurice – a streetwise tomcat – leads a band of educated ratty friends (and a stupid kid) on a nice little earner. Piper plus rats equals lots and lots of money.

Until they run across someone playing a different tune.

Now he and his rats must learn a new concept: evil . . .

Pan fo Elliot yn gofyn am ddymuniad wrth seren, nid yw’n disgwyl i gytser chwalu i domen ar ei fferm deuluol. Y seren yw Virgo. Mae hi’n meddwl ei bod hi’n berffaith ond nid yw Elliot. Gyda’i gilydd maen nhw’n rhyddhau Thanatos, Demon Marwolaeth … camgymeriad enfawr.

Mae pawb yn dweud wrth Sophie iddi fod yn amddifad oherwydd llongddrylliad – a ddarganfuwyd hi’n arnofio mewn cas sielo ar Sianel Lloegr ar ei phen-blwydd cyntaf. Ond mae Sophie yn argyhoeddedig bod ei mam hefyd wedi goroesi.

Pan fydd yr Asiantaeth Les yn bygwth ei gwahanu oddi wrth ei gwarcheidwad a’i hanfon i gartref plant amddifad, mae Sophie yn cymryd materion i’w dwylo ei hun, gan ddechrau gyda’r unig gliw sydd ganddi – cyfeiriad gwneuthurwr sielo ym Mharis. Ar ffo o’r awdurdodau, mae Sophie yn dod o hyd i Matteo a’i rwydwaith o ‘rooftoppers’ – cryts sy’n cerdded rhaffau tynion ac yn byw yn yr awyr. Mewn ras ar draws toeau Paris, a fyddant yn gallu dod o hyd i’w mam cyn ei bod hi’n rhy hwyr?

Yn obeithiol, yn ysbrydoledig ac yn wefreiddiol, mae hon yn stori antur glasurol am ddilyn eich breuddwydion.

Everyone tells Sophie that she was orphaned in a shipwreck – found floating in a cello case on the English Channel on her first birthday. But Sophie is convinced her mother also survived.

When the Welfare Agency threatens to separate her from her guardian and send her to an orphanage, Sophie takes matters into her own hands, starting with the only clue she has – the address of a cello-maker in Paris. On the run from the authorities, Sophie finds Matteo and his network of rooftoppers – urchins who walk tightropes and live in the sky. In a race across the rooftops of Paris, will they be able to find her mother before it’s too late?

Hopeful, inspiring and thrilling in equal measure, this is a classic adventure story about pursuing your dreams.

Stori am ddod o hyd i gyfeillgarwch pan rydych chi’n unig yw hon – a gobaith pan mai’r cyfan rydych chi’n teimlo yw ofn.

Mae Matthew, sy’n ddeuddeg oed, yn gaeth yn ei ystafell wely trwy fynd i’r afael ag OCD, gan dreulio’r rhan fwyaf o’i amser yn syllu allan o’i ffenest wrth i drigolion Chestnut Close byw eu bywydau.

Mae’n gaeth i’r ystafell tan y diwrnod mai ef yw’r person olaf i weld plentyn bach ei gymydog drws nesaf, Teddy, cyn iddo fynd ar goll.

Until the day he is the last person to see his next door neighbour’s toddler, Teddy, before he goes missing.

Nofel sy’n  dilyn hanes Huw wrth iddo baratoi prosiect am yr Ail Ryfel Byd dros yr haf. Ond mae pethau rhyfedd yn digwydd pan mae’n dechrau ymchwilio i gyfrinach brawd ei nain, a hithau yn dioddef o dementia. Enillydd gwobr Tir na n-Og.

Does gan Marc ddim perthynas dda iawn â’i dad, ond mae’r ddau’n mynd efo’i gilydd bob dydd Sadwrn i weld tîm Dinas Bangor. Mae’r bachgen (Marc, ar ôl Mark Hughes) yn datblygu obsesiwn efo Joe Allen, sydd, ym meddwl Marc, yn debyg i’w dad. Mae’r stori’n ymwneud â Dan a Deio, gyda’r nofel yn gorffen gyda Chymru yn cyrraedd Ewro 2020. Mae perthynas y ddau fel gêm bêl-droed – yn uchafbwyntiau bendigedig, ac yn isafbwyntiau siomedig, torcalonnus. Ond drwy bêl-droed, mae’r ddau yn dod i ddeall ei gilydd, a dod i werthfawrogi mai gwahanol gryfderau a chyd-chwarae sy’n creu tîm go iawn.

This story relates to Dan and Deio and ends as Wales reaches Euro 2020. The relationship between the two is like a football game – there are spectacular highlights and heartbreaking low points. However, through football the two come to understand each other and come to appreciate that it is varied strengths and working together that creates a good team.
