Literacy and Numeracy at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman
Literacy Introduction
The staff of Ysgol Dyffryn Aman are committed to develop, promote and celebrate literacy skills in our school. We believe that pupils should be taught in all subjects to express themselves correctly and appropriately, both verbally and on paper, and to read accurately and with understanding. We aim to ensure our learners achieve their potential so that they can meet the needs and rigours of education, their adult lives and the world of work.

Numeracy Introduction
Ysgol Dyffryn Aman is committed to raising the standards of numeracy of all of its pupils, so that they develop the relevant skills necessary to cope with the numeracy demands across the curriculum and for their future.
We define Numeracy as the ability to use numbers to solve problems in real life and all
staff should recognise the importance of being numerate to aid in improving learning
in their subjects.
